Inlet Guide Vane (IGV) Dampers for Fan and Blower Airflow Control

Fan and blower inlet airflow rarely responds well to simple on/off throttling. Steel plant blower systems, power plant ID/FD/PA fans, and cement plant kiln and cooler fans all need progressive, repeatable airflow control — without the energy losses of downstream damping or the mechanical strain of poorly synchronized vanes.
An Inlet Guide Vane damper uses a ring of radial blades, mechanically linked to move in unison, to progressively open or close the flow annulus at the fan or blower inlet.
